SBHS names six students as Baler STRONG

San Benito High School teachers, counselors and administrators each week recognize students as Baler STRONG Students of the Week. STRONG is an acronym for (Scholarship, Teamwork, Reflection, Opportunity, Nurture and Growth), representing the core values of San Benito High School. Each student earning recognition is presented with a certificate and a T-shirt signifying the honor. Here are the recipients for week of October 14-18:

The Math Department nominated senior Alexis Vega Ballesteros for Teamwork, stating, “He is extremely hopeful with the other students in 3rd block. He has become someone that students listen to and look up to.”

Also nominated from the Math Department, for Teamwork, was junior Samuel Neff. His nomination noted that “Samuel is super respectful and conscientious with his peers when they need help.”

Sophomore De’Angelo Blair was nominated by the AVID Department for Growth. The department’s nomination stated, “he has been a bright part of the classroom, an active drama participant, and the embodiment of the AVID program.”

AVID also nominated freshman Kayla Salazar for Nurture, stating, “Kayla was chosen because she shows great dedication to the AVID program and her fellow classmates. Regardless of who she is working with, she is more than willing to help all group members. She is also eager to participate in all activities and lessons presented in the classroom with wholeheartedness.”

The Science Department nominated sophomore Freddy Gomez for Teamwork, noting, “Freddy has been a great presence in the classroom. Leading conversations with peers and having a great attitude. He is Baler STRONG.”

Science also nominated sophomore Victor Guzman for Teamwork, noting “Victor has done a great job collaborating with others. He has supported others in their science understanding and has had a great attitude doing it. He is Baler STRONG.”
