SBHS names latest Baler STRONG Students of the Week

The San Benito High School Baler STRONG Students of the Week for March 25-29, Marcus La Clair and Logan Galu were honored for displaying the core values represented by the STRONG acronym for Scholarship, Teamwork, Reflection, Opportunity, Nurture and Growth.

Each student earning recognition is presented with a certificate and a T-shirt signifying the honor. LaClair, a freshman, was recognized for Opportunity, with his nomination form stating: “Marcus is always striving to improve. He takes advantage of every retake opportunity and gives his best effort to all he does.”

The sophomore Galu, not pictured, received his second Baler STRONG nomination for Scholarship, with his teachers noting, “Logan is the hardest working student I have ever seen!”

Here are the recipients for week of March 18-22:

Student Services nominated freshman Ezequiel Flores and sophomore and Cristobal Gonzalez for Growth, noting, “Ezequiel has made tremendous growth in attendance. He is coming to school regularly and his grades are improving. The student support team is very proud of Ezequiel.” Gonzalez, the department said, “has improved his attendance this school year. His grades are all A’s. The student support team is very proud of Cristobal.”

The Administration nominated seniors Charlie Cabrera for Growth and Luis Montero for Opportunity, noting, “Charlie carries himself as a mature young man each day on campus. It’s always a pleasure talking to him about what his goals are for the future.” Luis’s nomination stated, “Luis is to be commended for the path he has created for himself through our agricultural program. He’s a great example of how our Career Technical Pathways can create opportunities for our students.”

The Leadership Department nominated seniors Noah Gutierrez for Growth and Heidi Solorio for Opportunity, noting that Gutierrez “has grown into such a strong leader this year. I am proud of his work ethic and willingness to help his fellow officers. He is growing by leaps and bounds!” Solorio, the department says, “has taken on every challenge that has come her way this year and treated it as an opportunity. I am so proud of her work ethic and can-do attitude. She has inspired me and everyone around her to succeed when opportunity comes our way.”
