San Benito High School teachers, counselors and administrators each week recognize students as Baler STRONG Students of the Week. STRONG is an acronym for Scholarship, Teamwork, Reflection, Opportunity, Nurture and Growth, representing the core values of San Benito High School. Each student earning recognition is presented with a certificate signifying the honor. Here are the recipients for week of Dec. 9 to 13:
The World Languages Department nominated two students for Scholarship: the nomination for Breyon Thomas Chavez said he “is a freshman with a high sense of responsibility and a strong work ethic. He always reflects on his performance in class and assessments. He looks for excellence in his assignments and projects and looks for more opportunities to learn the subject by coming to AFTs or asking questions when in doubt. Breyon’s nomination is based on his general performance which reflects all of our STRONG values.” Senior Anely Aleman’s World Languages nomination said she “is the epitome of an AP student. She is intelligent, hard-working, and possesses an intellectual curiosity that pushes her to go above and beyond the expectations that I establish. Her ability to express herself in Spanish is nonpareil and is a model for all the other students.”
Vice Principal Laurie Chavez on Tuesday recognized this month’s Baler STRONG staff recipients: special education aide Alberto Araujo, transition teacher/education specialist Breanna Brooks, SPED division chair/math teacher/education specialist Joan Burley, math teacher Tiffani Maria, and AFS/Academy RS teacher/education specialist Liz Pulcheon.
San Benito High School teachers also invited students on Wednesday to the latest Baler STRONG lunch in O’Donnell Gym, where students were presented with a certificate acknowledging their adherence to the school’s core values.
