San Benito High School teachers, counselors and administrators each week recognize students as Baler STRONG Students of the Week. STRONG is an acronym for Scholarship, Teamwork, Reflection, Opportunity, Nurture and Growth, representing the core values of San Benito High School. Each student earning recognition is presented with a certificate signifying the honor. Here are the recipients for week of Nov. 18 to 22:
The English Department nominated junior Emmanuel Moreno for Scholarship, noting, “Emmanuel is super positive and always comes in with a great attitude. We are currently doing Lit. Circles and he is thriving in his group. He helps to keep them on task, gets his work done, and his enthusiasm for the book is contagious. I need one like him in every group!”
Nominated for Teamwork, sophomore Naia Traveria Gonzalo is consistently one of the top-performing and students in her classes. “She is also very helpful to the other students in my class,” her nomination said. “Last week, she spent her lunch tutoring her ELD classmates in preparation for their World Studies test. She was also leading the group during zero period. She recently moved here from Spain and has quickly become one of our ELD leaders.”
