The San Benito High School Special Education Program has expanded its inclusive efforts to introduce Gifted Basketball, through which students with special needs have the opportunity to play basketball in Mattson Gym during lunch on five Thursdays during the first semester.
Special Education Program Specialist Casandra Guerrero thanked Special Olympics representative Cameron Ahmadian, Circle of Friends officer Nico Tapia, Brian DeCarli and the Physical Education Department, and SBHS staff and students for their support of Baler Gifted Sports, including soccer, which was introduced last Spring.
The first Gifted Basketball day was Nov. 8. It will continue on Nov. 15 and 29 and December 6 and 13.
