Santa Claus is coming to town in Hollister for the 34th year.
Hollister Recreation’s 34th Breakfast with Santa event is set for Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Hollister.
Children can sit down with Santa, tell him what they want for Christmas and have breakfast as well. It’s from 8-11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito St.
The breakfast is free for the first 250 children ages 12 and under. Otherwise, it is $5 for youths, $8 for adults and $6 for seniors. The breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes with a serving of sausage. Also provided are orange juice, hot cocoa, tea and coffee. The photos by a professional photographer are $7.
“We’re always excited about the opportunity to provide family-friendly events in our community,” said Nick Merolla, recreation coordinator for the city.
Those first 250 children get free breakfast thanks to sponsors like Les Schwaub Tire Center, RJR Recycling and Casa de Fruta, Merolla said. Hollister Recreation partners with the Kiwanis Club, while Jim Hart from that organization helps to organize volunteers from San Benito High School, Merolla told San Benito Live.
