San Juan Bautista has selected a new permanent city manager.
Don Reynolds will succeed interim City Manager Ed Tewes and former City Manager Michaele LaForge, who resigned earlier this year.
According to a city announcement Wednesday, Reynolds is currently assistant public works director in Salinas.
That came after a council interview and a community review panel’s consideration.
Reynolds will earn $132,000 annually.
“We are very pleased that we were able to find someone with Mr. Reynolds’ experience and commitment to public service,” Mayor Cesar Flores said. “Throughout his career, he has demonstrated the type of leadership and professionalism that will serve our citizens well and help San Juan Bautista meet the challenges of the future.”
Reynolds will start July 2. The city will host a welcome reception July 9 at the library.
The statement from San Juan says Reynolds has extensive experience in redevelopment, project management and public works.
It says he has over 30 years of experience in local government and he is from Ventura County.
