San Juan Bautista City Council members are ready to sift through city manager resumes and choose a group of preliminary finalists.
The council will hold a special closed session meeting Tuesday to go over the dozen or so resumes received by the city for the city manager job, Councilman John Freeman said.
“The city council just has to pick the ones we like best,” Freeman said.
He said there were 12 or 13 resumes received through the recruitment process, with the deadline passed to submit an application. Those candidates are vying to succeed former City Manager Michaele LaForge, who resigned in March after about 10 months in the role.
The council will likely pick a handful of resumes and invite those candidates for interviews May 24, Freeman said. It is the only item on the agenda for the 5:30 p.m. meeting at San Juan Bautista City Hall that is closed to the public since it’s a personnel matter.
