San Benito County to mail COVID-19 information

Courtesy of San Benito County:

San Benito County residents will soon receive local resource and information guides for COVID-19 by an older form of communication with help from the post office – mail.

There has been much technological advancement in recent years to aid in communicating with the public. Many people have smartphones, devices and other electronics that can keep us connected virtually. Recent innovations like social media and electronic alert systems like Nixle help us stay in tune with local information and events.

There are those in our community that are not connected to the internet nor have access to information networks or technology of any kind. There are other members of our community that may only communicate in Spanish or sign language and may not have access to translation or related equipment.

Considering all of this, the lead agency, San Benito County Public Health Department – also working with the County Clerk-Recorder-Registrar of Voters, Tax Collector, Administration and Public Information Office – put together a local resource and information guide for COVID-19. It was designed specifically to address the issues of not being connected or having access to technology or the other mentioned issues.

These guides, a one-page document and prepared in both English and Spanish, will be mailed to 22,506 households in San Benito County next week.

If there are any questions on these COVID-19 Resource & Information Guides, please contact the Public Information Officer at (831) 636-4168.
