The Hollister Rotary Club honored San Benito High School students as their “Students of the Month” at their monthly luncheon held on Monday, March 2, at Paine’s Restaurant.
Principal Adrian Ramirez accompanied the eight students who were honored during the luncheon. Kevin Medina and Madison Smith were the winners for November, and Nathan Cutler and Samantha Moran as winners for December.
Samuel Arreola and Malia Chang were the January winners and Andrew Tobias and Kalea Bantilan were selected as February winners.
The Rotary Students of the Month are nominated by the San Benito High School Counseling Department for their hard work and determination to continue their education at a four-year university and who currently possess a GPA above 3.5. The students shared their post-high school plans and goals with the Rotarians that attended the event. Pictured with the Rotary Students of the Month are Hollister Rotary President Jim Fosdick and Youth Services Coordinator Larry Barr. SBHS College and Career Specialist Mary Andrade had this to say:
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Hollister Rotary Club for their continued support to the youth of San Benito County for such programs as the Rotary Student of the Month, annual speech contest, and the thousands of dollars awarded yearly to scholarship recipients.”
