Join the National Young Farmers Coalition, the California Alliance with Family Farmers/The Farmers Guild and the California Farmer Justice Collaborative, on May 24, as we meet with Assemblymember Rivas in his Salinas district office to discuss Assembly Bill 986 and the challenges behind seeking farmland ownership.
Assembly Bill 986 seeks to create low-interest rate loan programs and grant programs for socially disadvantaged farmers to be able to purchase land in the state of California. The bill is authored by the assembly member himself.
This meeting is an opportunity for farmers to share stories on the struggles that they have had when it comes to purchasing farmland.
