Poster art winners to have work shown on collection trucks

San Benito County Integrated Waste Management announced winners of a poster art contest and sustainability merit badges at its inaugural Earth Day Celebration on Saturday.

The poster art winners will have their pieces displayed on the side of Recology collection trucks.

Here are the 15 Art Poster Winners:

Lourdes Rios (Kindergarten), Isabelle Slykas (1^st Grade), Julian Delgadillo (1^st Grade), Mia D. Castro (2^nd Grade), Jayleen Arredondo (2^nd Grade), Bridget Ferry (3^rd Grade), Elizabeth Starkweather (3^rd Grade), Camila Chavez (4^th Grade), Ashlin Mann (5^th Grade), Isabella Bozzi (5^th Grade), Jecely Vidalez (7^th Grade), Lupe Gonzalez (7^th Grade), Heidi Rivera (7^th Grade), Christopher A. McGuire (8^th Grade), Samantha Slykas (9^th Grade)

San Benito County Board Chairman Mark Medina announced the winners at Saturday’s Earth Day event.

And the Sustainability Merit Badge (Eagle Badge!) recipients from BS Troop 436 were:

Owain Robinson, Ethan Robinson, Chase Cederquist, Andrew Hubbard, Lukas Zanger, Noah Swanton, Giovanni Stotler, Jacques Morin

The free event Saturday had over 20 partners providing interactive Earth Day activities for all ages and easy ways for residents to be more green and sustainable.
