Police ask for public’s help with restaurant, store burglaries

Police were seeking help to identify burglars who broke into two stores in Hollister.

According to the HPD:

On February 26, 2017 at approximately 7:50 am officers responded to Georges Grill, 480 Tres Pinos Road, when an employee arrived to work and noticed a shattered glass door. It appeared someone had broken the glass door and entered the business taking an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

While investigating the burglary a cash register was located in a dumpster in the back parking lot. However, the cash register did not belong to Georges Grill.

At about 8:10 am, officers responded to Hollister Pure Water, 191 San Felipe Suite D, after a passerby noticed the glass front door had been broken. Similarly, someone had broken the glass front door to the business and took an undisclosed amount of jewelry from a display case, money, and a cash register that was later recovered from the earlier investigation.

A video surveillance system captured part of the crime and the suspect vehicle. Two males are seen in the video committing the burglary and a female, “lookout” was also captured on video. The suspect vehicle is a white 2 door 1990’s model possibly Nissan pickup truck with a white camper. It appears the truck has a ball hitch to pull a trailer on the rear bumper near the license plate. On the sides of the truck there is a teal design along the length of the vehicle.

Police released this photo of the involved vehicle.

This is an ongoing investigation and police officers are still speaking to witnesses and anyone in the area that may have seen the suspect vehicle or suspects.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to call Officer Yerena at the Hollister Police Department at 636-4330. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the WeTip hotline at 800-87-CRIME. Information provided to WeTip may qualify for a reward.
