The Holte Holiday Dinners tradition continued on Christmas, with hundreds of people showing up for the annual, free meal named after the founder of the twice-annal gatherings, with the other on Thanksgiving. The late Marley Holte and his wife at the time founded the dinners in the mid-1980s when they decided to skip buying presents for each other and, instead, fund the first gathering at Sacred Heart School. Volunteers have kept the tradition going since Holte’s passing 10 years ago.Â
