San Benito High School 4-H participant Samantha Slykas hosted an anti-bullying event last weekend featuring Bryan Stow.
The event held at the Veterans Memorial Building included guest speakers from Community Solutions and the Bryan Stow Foundation. Stow is the San Francisco Giants fan who was brutally beaten following a game in Los Angeles against the Dodgers in 2011, and suffered severe and permanent brain trauma from the incident.
The goal of the self-awareness event held March 2 was to provide information on bullying, harassment and other issues. It was open to the community.
