San Benito Street from July 2 beginning at 1:00pm through July 6 at 10:00pm.
This pertains to the weekly Friday-Sunday street closure the City is undertaking on an trial basis. In this case, however, the closure is beginning one day early – on Thursday July 2 – due to the July 4 holiday.
The road will reopen on Sunday, July 6 as per normal practice. The City is hopeful that by closing the street, the City is not only helping the eateries in town but also using that foot traffic to encourage increased patronage to our other downtown businesses.
Please know that the trial period for the street closure runs until August 17. The matter will be reviewed at the City Council Meeting of August 3, which is a public meeting.
