Guadalupe (Lupe) Cordova died on August 25, 2018 at the age of 96 in Hollister, California. She was born in Dallas, Texas on January 13, 1922 to Virginia and Cruz Chavarria. Lupe married the love of her life, James Cordova on October 11, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Together they raised 10 children: Florence Martinez, Evelyn Valencia, Marcela Schmunk, James Cordova, Jerry Cordova, Fred Cordova, Danny Cordova, Irene McManus, Noemi Cordova, and David Cordova.
Lupe loved the Lord and was an active member of the Sunnyslope Christian Center Church for over 60 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Whenever possible Lupe loved opportunities to get together with her sisters and brothers who lived out of state.
In addition to raising 10 children, Lupe worked in the fields and later at Southside Convalescent Hospital. After retirement, in 1987, she enjoyed time sewing, crocheting, gardening and reading her bible. Lupe was a spiffy dresser who loved pretty dresses, high heeled shoes and getting her nails and hair done. She was known for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and positive spirit and will be greatly missed by many.
