Bernardo Guiza passed away in Palo Alto at the age of 87. He was born in Watsonville and lived in Hollister and San Juan Bautista over a 60-year period and worked in agriculture. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, served in the Marines during the Korean Conflct, enjoyed the senior center, Farmers Market and all downtown events like the parade and street festivals. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy, who passed away in 2007. He is survived by his son and his wife, Edward and Tina Guiza of Hollister, his sister, Frances Guiza and his grandchildren, Alexis and Jacob Guiza.
Friends can pay their respects on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. A service will be at 7:00 PM
The Mass will be on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Benedict Church, 1200 Fairview Rd. Interment will follow the Mass at San Juan District Cemetery with military rites being offered by VFW Post #9242.
