Annual Memorial Day events are taking place in both Hollister and San Juan Bautista.
First, at 9 a.m. Monday, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6359 is hosting its annual Memorial Day ceremony at the cemetery. This year, the VFW will honor the late Corporal Edwigis Andreas Salinas, a U.S. Army veteran who fought in World War II and the Korean War, said Post Commander Augustine Garcia.
In Hollister, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9242 will host the annual Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito St.. There will be a BBQ lunch afterward as well.
