Man suspected of stabbing juvenile at Mission Oaks

A 21-year-old Gilroy man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing a juvenile in the Mission Oaks Mobile Home Park in Hollister on Sunday night.

The incident happened at about 10 p.m. Sunday at the trailer park on Hollister’s west side, said Sgt. Don Pershall with the Hollister Police Department.

The juvenile was transported to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Pershall said. The suspect, Christian Adame, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse and robbery.

The assault occurred after the juvenile agreed to give the suspect a ride to the Mission Oaks park. A struggle ensued over a cell phone outside the vehicle, leading to the stabbing, Pershall said. It appears the suspect was attempting to steal the phone, the sergeant confirmed.
