Sunnyslope Christian Center is offering a free community awareness training on the topic of human trafficking Saturday.
It is set for 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Sunnyslope Christian Center, 1520 Sunnyslope Road in Hollister.
The speaker Debbie Johnson is founder and CEO of Without Permission Inc. located out of Modesto. Johnson has collaborated with people in key leadership positions who share her commitment to serve first responders of law enforcement, social services, educators, medical staff and impacting community members through awareness training.
Without Permission has educated over 22,600 high school and college students.
Sunnyslope Christian Center spokesperson said the issue has recently hit home in Hollister. Sunnyslope wants to spread awareness on the issue and is inviting all in Hollister to the event.
An organizer noted how the issue has really hit home recently with two arrests in the Ridgemark community of wanted felons, one on sex trafficking charges.
