If you noticed work on the local library’s roof this week, it relates to a broader energy-efficiency program at the county.
“There’s a big project where they’re putting solar in on the parking lots and some of the buildings,” said Kevin O’Neill, a spokesman for the county.
Just across from the San Benito County Administration Building on Fourth Street is one of those parking lots with solar panels going up. O’Neill said as for the library, workers are installing solar panels on the roof and going from a rooftop air-conditioning unit to a ground-level system.
