San Benito County Health & Human Services is partnering with Hazel Hawkins Hospital and the San Benito County Aging and Long Term Care Commission to host a senior scam alert presentation.
The event is set for 2-3:30 p.m. June 4 at the Great Room on the Second Floor of the Support Services Building at the hospital.
An announcement for the prevention presentation notes that one in five seniors has been a victim of abuse or fraud, and in nearly 90 percent of the incidents the perpetrator is a family member.
At the presentation, locals can learn about the latest local and nationwide scams, how to protect yourself from them ,and what to do if you or someone you know has been a victim of a scam.
