Local residents are holding a candlelight vigil tonight for the victims of the Gilroy Garlic Festival mass shooting.
The vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the grassy lot at the 400 block of San Benito Street in downtown Hollister.

“There are a lot of people from San Benito County that actually were at that Garlic Festival,” said organizer Oscar Ceja. “We wanted to show support for our neighbors.”
Local Dollar Tree employees donated 150 candles for the event, while Starbucks donated cups to hold the candles as well, Ceja said. A local pastor will speak at the event, too.
Jeremy Littlejohn, who is helping to spread the word, said there will be baked goods available at the event while organizers are hoping to set up a means for local donations.
