Hollister School District names Students of the Week from Maze

Courtesy of the Hollister School District:

Each week, the Hollister School District honors and recognizes two worthy children as the male and female, “Students of the Week”. The district receives nominations by school sites and recognizes students who show excellent leadership, behavior, and academics. All honorees receive a “Student of the Week” certificate with an inscription detailing the reason they were chosen.

Maze Middle School is very excited about teachers being trained in Constructed Meaning and using these instructional strategies in their classrooms.  Maze teachers are also participating in a book study of Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain. These strategies connect to the site goals of RIGOR, RELEVANCE, and RELATIONSHIPS.  Many teachers are also implementing AVID strategies in their classroom. Maze has also implemented Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) and notes positive changes in school culture. The school has implemented a variety of Clubs including INTERACT. The school’s Leadership and ASB classes are strong and continue to promote positive leadership skills amongst their peers and positive school climate.
