A 73-year-old Hollister man died in a traffic collision over the weekend on Highway 25 near the Ridgemark community.
The deceased victim was identified as Floyd Custodia of Hollister, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at 2:29 p.m. Saturday. Custodia was driving a 1972 Volkswagon Beetle eastbound on South Ridgemark Drive and stopped at the intersection of Highway 25.
When Custodia drove into the intersection and across the southbound lane of Highway 25, he came into the direct path of a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 45-year-old Paicines resident with two passengers, ages 41 and 1, in the truck.
The truck collided with the left side of the Beetle. As a result, Custodia was transported to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital but passed away, according to the CHP.
