The inevitable became reality with cancellation of the Hollister Motorcycle Rally.
The rally’s promoter – Nevada-based Road Shows – issued a press release Sunday announcing the cancellation and dates for the 2021 event.
The City of Hollister earlier this year agreed to revive the event. It has been an on again, off again event for the past 15 years. The rally commemorates the 1947 “invasion” of Hollister that was retold in the classic film, “The Wild One”.
The 1997 rally kicked off the more modern tradition that has led to cancellations and revivals depending on finances and who’s on the city council.
