Highway 152 wreck results in death of 27-year-old man

A 27-year-old male died in a traffic collision Wednesday morning on Highway 152 near Lover’s Lane, while two other men sustained major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

The accident happened at 7:55 a.m. and resulted in the death of the unidentified male. Another 27-year-old male sustained major injuries along with a 31-year-old male from Fresno. 

The accident involved two vehicles. It was east of Lake Road at Soap Lake, according to the CHP. 

The Fresno man was westbound on Highway 152 in a 2000 Ford while driving about 60 mph, and the fatality victim was eastbound going about 55 mph. For unknown reasons, the Fresno driver crossed the solid double-yellow line and collided head on with the Toyota. 

The CHP noted how several passersby stopped to help and the highway was closed for about four hours. 

The Toyota driver died on scene and was transported to the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office. The Ford passenger was transported by ambulance to San Jose Regional Hospital, and the driver was taken by Calstar to San Jose Regional Hospital.
