With construction on its campus, San Benito High School hopes to hold its annual Carnival at Veterans Memorial Park this May.
The annual event is normally held at the football stadium parking lot, but the school is continuing on with an array of facility renovations that won’t allow that this year. So the school is proposing to move the event, scheduled for May 10-12, to Veterans Memorial Park.
The item is going before the county’s Veterans Park Commission for its approval Monday.
Proceeds from the annual event have gone toward student activities and athletics, according to the commission agenda.
Veterans Memorial Park is overseen by both the City of Hollister and San Benito County.
The proposed dates and times for this year’s Carnival are 4-11 p.m. Friday, May 10; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, May 11; and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday, May 12.
Also on the commission’s agenda, the county is considering a sublease agreement between the city, Hollister Black Jacks and Central Coast Athletics for use of the small softball field.
