It could get really windy overnight in San Benito County.
The Hollister Police Department sent notice to local residents that the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the area until 3 a.m. Thursday.
According to the report:
WINDS…South 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph turning Southwest overnight.
* TIMING…Strong winds will continue this afternoon through late tonight as a strong cold front moves through the Bay Area.
* IMPACTS…Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.
* AFFECTED AREAS: EAST BAY HILLS AND THE DIABLO RANGE … MOUNTAINS OF SAN BENITO COUNTY AND INTERIOR MONTEREY COUNTY INCLUDING PINNACLES NATIONAL PARK … NORTHERN MONTEREY BAY … SAN FRANCISCO PENINSULA COAST … COASTAL NORTH BAY INCLUDING POINT REYES NATIONAL SEASHORE … SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS … SOUTHERN MONTEREY BAY AND BIG SUR COAST … NORTH BAY MOUNTAINS … SAN FRANCISCO … SANTA LUCIA MOUNTAINS AND LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
