A 25-year-old Gilroy man was killed early Monday in a traffic incident on Highway 152, according to the CHP.
According to the CHP:
On Oct. 24 at approximately 12:40 a.m., a Gilroy man was driving a 2007 GMC Sierra truck eastbound on Highway 152 west of Bloomfield Ave., at an unknown speed, in an unincorporated area of Santa Clara County.
For an unknown reason, the truck veered to travel off the south road edge and collided with a utility power pole and two trees. The vehicle continued to travel in an easterly direction as it spun in a clockwise direction.
The driver was subsequently ejected through the driver side door. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. At this time, it is unknown if drug and/or alcohol impairment was a factor to this collision.
The victim has not been identified.
