Gavilan College will host a historian to talk about his experience in a Japanese internment camp during World War II.
Guest lecturer Mas Hashimoto will speak from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. April 13 in Room 2 at the Gavilan College Briggs Building in Hollister.
An announcement on the event says it has been 76 years since Executive Order 9066, signed by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt, allowing for incarceration of Japanese-Americans, German-Americans and Italian-Americans in concentration camps.
Hashimoto will speak about his experiences and at the interactive event, visitors will learn what it was like for families sent from their homes to the camps after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
