San Juan Oaks Golf Club has named Manny Freitas as the new general manager. He succeeds Scott Fuller, who has been G.M. since the club opened in October 1996.
Fuller will focus on consulting and project management for club owner Ken Gimelli. In early June, Fuller moved into the new role in which he focuses on the Active Adult Community being developed on the site, near Highway 156 and Union Road. That project includes about 1,000 homes for adults age 55 and over.
Freitas has worked his way up the chain at San Juan Oaks, starting as a cart attendant followed by a variety of roles before his recent assignment as director of golf. An announcement on the changes noted that Freitas was born and raised in San Benito County.
Look back for more.
