Eastbound and westbound State Route 156 will have one-way reversing traffic control from Alameda Road in Hollister to Union Road in San Juan Bautista for two weeks, starting on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a grind and pave maintenance operation.
Motorists can use Hwy. 25 and Hwy. 152 as alternate routes. This roadwork consists of grinding and paving the wheel tracks and paving box due to heavy truck traffic braking up the asphalt and is necessary to ensure the safety of travelers. Roadwork is expected to be complete on Thursday, June 7.
Electronic message boards will be posted alerting motorists of this roadwork, which is being performed by the Caltrans Hollister Maintenance crew. Motorists can expect delays of 20-25 minutes. The California Highway Patrol will be present to assist with traffic control and enforcement.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over slow down when driving through highway work zones.
