Easter Egg Hunt at Vet’s Park
April 20 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
One of the most exhilarating races of the year is around the corner, and now there will be two of them.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9242 and VFW Auxiliary will present their Easter Egg Hunt event on April 20 at Veterans Memorial Park.
The annual tradition this year will include a new egg hunt that same morning – before the afternoon egg hunt – specifically for special needs children, according to an event announcement from organizer Frankie Gallagher.
The morning egg hunt is set for 10:30 a.m., with the afternoon egg hunt at 1 p.m.
According to the event announcement:
This year the VFW is adding a new egg hunt in the morning at 10:30 a.m. for special needs children that have physical, developmental or sensory impaired challenges. There will be two age groups for this hunt. 2 – 6 year olds and 7 – 10 year olds. All children will receive a prize after the hunt. Each child is welcomed to have a parent or buddy help them during the egg hunt.
All other children are invited for the annual egg hunt at 1:00 p.m.
There will be three age groups for the hunt: 2-4 years old, 5-7 years old and 8-10 years old
• There will be some special eggs in the hunting area that can be redeemed for prizes. • Only parents of the 2-4 year olds will be allowed in the hunt area. • Children that do not find any eggs will be able to get some from the Command Post. • Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to get your child in line. The hunt begins promptly at 1:00 p.m.
American Legion Post 69 also will provide special prize baskets.
