Democrat Anna Caballero is narrowly leading Republican Rob Poythress for the District 12 State Senate seat representing the local area with 50.5 percent of the vote as of the latest results.
Caballero, the State Assemblywoman who represents San Benito County, had 57,104 votes to 56,085 for Poythress. There are more votes to count yet, though.
