An earthquake jolted the Aromas and San Juan Bautista areas early Saturday morning.
The 3.1-magnitude quake hit at about 6:30 a.m. in Aromas, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake was at a depth of about five miles. There were a couple of short jolts when it occurred.
Residents reported feeling north close to Morgan Hill and south in the Salinas area.
