San Juan Bautista-based Earthbound Farm, the largest producer of organic salads in the U.S., released a statement on the nationwide outbreak of E. coli attached to romaine lettuce.
The statement posted on the company website starts off with a title of “Our Romaine Lettuce” and goes to to say:
“The health and safety or our organic produce has always been our top concern, since we began farming organically in 1984. We have no reason to believe that any of our products are linked to the current outbreak.
“We understand that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has warned consumers not to consume any romaine lettuce and you should follow that advisory.

The CDC and Food & Drug Administration have advised consumers not to eat any romaine lettuce in light of the outbreak, which has sickened 32 people in 11 states.
