At the 25th annual Kids at the Park at Dunne Park in Hollister on June 20, organizers released 25 doves in honor of event founder Janet Graham, who died in a vehicle accident on Highway 25 in 2001. Public Health Officer Gail Newell spoke to the crowd along with former Supervisor Margie Barrios. “That was a very touching moment, very special, to honor a very special woman Janet Graham,” Barrios said. “If it were not for her, we would not have this Kids at the Park Day for the kids’ health and safety. So again, a big hand for all of the participants and organizers.” The Safe Kids Coalition puts on the annual event.
