The California Highway Patrol released more information on the pedestrian fatality along Highway 25 on Friday night.
At 10:08 p.m., a Hollister woman driving a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country northbound on Highway 25 south of Wright Road struck a pedestrian who had from the east shoulder into northbound traffic into the path of the vehicle.
Emergency personnel attempted to render aid but were unable to revive the pedestrian on the scene.
Attempts to make a positive identification were unsuccessful, and the coroner’s office has yet to confirm an I.D. The vehicle’s driver did not sustain any injuries.
The CHP noted the driver was traveling at about 55 mph, which is the speed limit there. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a cause.
