The California Highway Patrol will host a driver education class on Jan. 29 in Gilroy for teens and their parents.
The CHP event is from 6-8 p.m. at Christopher High School. It is an effort to prepare young drivers to drive responsibly and is aimed at new drivers.
The class called “Start Smart” will be in the school’s library and will include topics like:
Licensing laws
Collision avoidance
Defensive driving
Dangers of distracted driving
Rules of the road
