CHP asks for help in freeway shooting on 101

On Saturday at approximately 7 a.m., the California Highway Patrol began investigating a freeway shooting in the Prunedale area, according to the CHP.

According to the CHP statement on the matter:

A white Volvo wagon occupied by one was shot at while driving along northbound US-101 south of San Miguel Canyon Road. A second vehicle was also struck, a silver BMW occupied by one.

The driver of the white Volvo stopped on San Miguel Canyon Road and waited for CHP arrival.  Bullet holes were discovered on the BMW and the Volvo.  Both vehicles are being processed. 

There were no injuries to the drivers, while US-101 northbound traffic from Pesante to SR-156 was closed for approximately 25 minutes for evidence collection. 

Currently, there is no suspect information. The California Highway Patrol is the lead investigating agency. If anyone knows information regarding the freeway shooting you are asked to call the California Highway Patrol at (831) 796-2160. 

At this time, this freeway shooting is not related to the vehicles being struck by projectiles on US-101 near Prunedale.
