Pullin’ For a Cure
The fifth annual Pullin’ For A Cure Charity Truck Pull is scheduled for Saturday at 3384 Santa Ana Valley Road. The annual event is the biggest fundraiser for the local Relay For Life fundraising efforts in San Benito County. It includes the truck pull, music, face painting, raffiles, concession stands and free photo opportunities with the trucks, according to organizers. All proceeds from this event are being donated to Relay for Life through the Casillas-Garner Family & Friends Relay for Life Team. The pit pass entrance fee is $40, which includes a driver pit pass and one extra pit pass, while additional pit passes are available for purchase at $20. General admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 3-12 and free for kids under 3. It is open to all pulling classes, and helmets are required. Truck registration is 10-2 p.m. with the show starting at 3 p.m.
Casino Night
The second annual Casino Night put on by the stage company is set for 6 p.m. Saturday at the IOOF Hall, 330 Fourth St. in Hollister. The price is $35 in advance until Friday from Postal Graphics or online up to 24 hours in advance, or it’s $40 at the door. That pays for each attendee’s buy-in of chips as well. Everyone starts with $350 in casino money. They can play all night on it. But if someone hits $0, he or she can re-buy $200 in chips for $20. Outside of the entrance fee for chips, there is a silent auction and alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase. At the end, players receive tickets they can use to vie for an array of raffle prizes. The person with the most chips at the end will receive a grand prize package, which will include items such as membership, tickets to a show and a high-value gift card. There will be entertainment in the form of dance performances as well.
Queen Tribute
Queen Nation Tribute to Queen is the next show in the lineup for the Guerra Cellars Hollister Concerts series. It is set for 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday at Hollister Concerts, 500 John Smith Road. There’s an opening performance by Ultimate Stones Tribute to the Rolling Stones. Tickets are $30.
Pizza for Paws
Pet Friends of Hollister will hold its annual Pizza for Paws fundraiser Sunday at Hacienda de Leal. It’s the second-biggest fundraiser each year for the no-kill, nonprofit animal shelter at 2975 Buena Vista Road. The funds go toward the organization that is almost entirely volunteer run, with one full-time paid employee. It is set for 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hacienda de Leal, 401 The Alameda. Tickets are $30 and are available at Pet Friends or Postal Graphics.
Aromas Day
The annual Aromas Day festivities are set for Sunday in Aromas. According to the Aromas Day website, the free event will include live music, food, vendors, entertainment on a main stage and a parade at 2 p.m. Kids can enjoy pony rides, games and a petting zoo. There will be classic cars and a garage sale alley as well. Additionally, patrons can enjoy a country-style breakfast at the Aromas Grange from 7-11 a.m.
