There’s plenty to do in San Benito County this weekend, with an Arts & Crafts Festival, the Pet Friends Fur Ball and more.

Open Studios Kickoff
Local residents, students and visitors are invited to participate in a self-guided tour of artists’ studios throughout San Benito County during the San Benito County Arts Council’s annual Open Studios Art Tour on Saturday & Sunday, April 14th-15th from 10 AM-4 PM. This year’s tour features 29 local artists and artisans and showcases works in painting, photography, pottery & ceramics, stained-glass, jewelry and more! Open Studios is a great way for locals and out of town visitors to meet the artists, view and purchase original works of art, learn more about the processes of art-making and enjoy a scenic tour throughout San Benito County. The Kickoff Party is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Annex, 217 Fifth St. in downtown Hollister.
Arts & Crafts Festival
The annual San Juan Bautista Fine Arts & Crafts Festival is set for March 24 and March 25 in downtown of the Mission City. It runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 24 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 25. Some of the event features include unique craft items, food, face painting, animal rides and more.
El Teatro Family Fun Day
El Teatro Campesino is hosting another Family Fun Day at the playhouse on Fourth Street in San Juan Bautista. The theater announced the Family Fun Day is set for noon March 24 at the playhouse located at 705 Fourth St. Proceeds from the event go toward El Teatro’s educational programming in San Benito County, according to the announcement. The event will include family-friendly indoor and outdoor activities.
Once Upon a Mattress
San Benito High School is holding its spring musical Friday and Saturday at the high school. See details here.
Pet Friends Fur Ball
Pet Friends of Hollister is hosting its fifth annual Fur Ball fundraiser dinner and auction at San Juan Oaks Golf Club on Saturday.
The donation includes a cocktail hour, no-host full bar, entertainment, the dinner buffet, dessert, coffee and tea. there is a grand door prize along with silent and live auction items available.
Pet Friends of Hollister is a no-kill animal shelter and rescue center at 2975 Buena Vista Road, just off Highway 156. The nonprofit organization is run by a board of directors and houses dozens of dogs and cats.
All proceeds from the Fur Ball benefit the adoption center. The facility has been serving San Benito County for 30 years.
