Courtesy of the Aromas-San Juan Bautista Community Schools Foundation:
Hello, supporter of Aromas-San Juan USD schools, teachers, students, and programs. We at the Community Schools Foundation sincerely hope you and your loved ones are healthy and coping as well as can be expected with this stay at home routine, and the heightened anxiety surrounding us daily. As you know, our annual spring fundraiser was cancelled, due to the virus. However, we are committed to the continued funding of scholarships and support of science camps, the Tolerance Trip, the Dual Immersion Program and district Arts Program without a lapse.
For this reason, to help offset the loss of fundraiser revenue, we are excited to hold a limited online auction version of our normal fundraiser dual silent and robust live auctions. We know there are so many parents and community members who want to help support our schools in some meaningful way during this difficult school closure time, but logistically are not able to physically volunteer. We’ve seen human kindness abound during crisis, generosity and thoughtfulness in action, and folks actively looking for ways to be productively helpful to tangible areas of need. We want to provide just that outlet for any of you who can comfortably afford to participate this year. If you happen to be lucky enough to not be suffering from any significant loss of income right now, please join our auction and help us support those who are not as fortunate. Think Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduation time, birthdays, or simply something that makes sense for you. There are some truly beautiful, fun, creative, and exciting options.
The auction will go live on Wednesday, April 29 at noon, and will close on Friday, May 8 at 8 PM, in time for Mother’s Day deliveries, if needed. Delivery or pick up of auction items will be arranged individually for each winner, as per recommended social distancing and health restrictions. Of special note: There will be multiple wine donations from local wineries added to the site on the day before the auction goes live (on 4/28).
SO – Log on, bid away, have fun, go back and bid some more, and please know how much your support is appreciated! All revenue will go directly to the scholarships and program funding for ASJ students, and your participation WILL make a difference!
Instructions follow, and we recommend PRINTING THIS NOW for later ease.
First, to know about the auction site: “32auctions” provides a service to non-profits needing to raise money – it is free for an auction of up to 20 items, with a nominal flat fee for 20-100 items. In order to provide this service, there are ads interspersed on the auction page. Please don’t let these get in the way of your bidding experience!
Participating is easy. After clicking on the auction link (at end of this email), you will find the auction home page and can view all the items. Note: to view the descriptions of each item, you must scroll below the ad underneath the item. To participate in the auction, you need to click on the ‘LOGIN” link at the top right of the home page, then choose to create an account. Create your account and then follow the instructions provided to continue setting up your account. Once logged in, you will be viewing the auction as a participant; click on “Account”. You will then see your profile page. At this point, you can click on “edit account” and choose a display name, if you want to keep your name private during the bidding (in other words – this is your bidding name). Once that is complete, you can click on “View Auctions” and you’ll see ours pop up. You can begin your bidding on April 29!
