PREQUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS
NOTICE INVITING PREQUALIFICATION
Notice is hereby given by the Aromas-San Juan Unified School District (“District”) that prime contractors with A or B licenses (“general contractors”), and mechanical, electrical plumbing, and fire protection contractors (i.e., those contractors holding C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, or C-46 license), whether acting as prime contractors or subcontractors, that are planning to submit, or planning to be included in, a bid or proposal for the District’s new construction projects (“Project”), including, but not necessarily limited to campus modernizations, new building construction, modular buildings and site improvement projects, will be required to prequalify pursuant to Public Contract Code §20111.6 prior to bidding or submitting a proposal, and prior to being included in a bid or a proposal.
Notice is also hereby given that the District will annually prequalify the above classifications of contractors for bidding or proposals on additional future District projects.
The deadline for submitting a completed Prequalification Application Package for the annual prequalification process is Thursday, September 10, 2020. Contractors may submit a prequalification application after this date. Still, they will not be eligible to bid on projects or submit a proposal unless they have submitted a completed Prequalification Package at least ten (10) business days prior to bid opening or the deadline to submit proposals.
Prequalification application packages are available on the District’s website: (www.asjusd.k12.ca.us ) and at the District’s main office located at 2300 San Juan Hwy, San Juan Bautista, CA 95045.
The prequalification package includes a questionnaire and financial statement to be verified under oath. The District will use the information and documentation required by the package to prequalify contractors in accordance with applicable law. The completed prequalification packages should be sealed, marked “CONFIDENTIAL PREQUALIFICATION,” and mailed to the following:

A list of all prequalified contractors will be made available on the District website at www.asjusd.k12.ca.us to all applicants at least five (5) business days prior to bid opening or the deadline to submit proposals.
Contractors are solely responsible for ensuring timely delivery to the person and address given above. If an applicant does not obtain proof regarding the date of delivery, then in any dispute regarding the date of delivery, it will be presumed that the application was not timely delivered.
