The San Benito County Planning Commission is set to meet Wednesday to take up further consideration of a 20-unit subdivision on Santa Ana Road.
The commission is set to meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the San Benito County Administration Building, 481 Fourth St. Commissioners include Valerie Egland, Mark Tognazzini, Ray Pierce, Pat Loe and Robert Rodriguez. The panel gives recommendations to the county board on planning matters.
Applicants Elizabeth Ann williams and Scott Stotler are proposing a continued tentative subdivision map at 1735 Santa Ana Road to subdivide 21 acres into 20 parcels at 1 and 1.2 acres each to be used as single-family home sites. Two parcels would access a proposed Meridian Street extension and 18 would access a proposed road south from Santa Ana Road to the Meridian Road extension. Sewer line access remains a major roadblock for the project.
According to the broader meeting agenda:
“The Planning Commission received oral and written testimony and evidence indicating that TSM 17-104 as proposed was inconsistent with the San Benito County General Plan in multiple respects. Among the inconsistencies presented to the Commission were General Plan policies and provisions that govern development within the Sphere of Influence of the City of Hollister relating to sewer service and coordination with the City. The Planning Commission directed County staff to facilitate moving both the applicant and the City of Hollister staff to identify reasonable City requirements necessary for approval and increase the project’s consistency with the General Plan.”
The planning commission at this week’s meeting will also receive an update on the Hollister Urban Area Water and Wastewater Management Plan.
