The Local Agency Formation Commission will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday at the San Benito County Administration Building, 481 Fourth St., to consider the following:

Boundary change proposal at Ridgemark development

Under consideration is the Promontory at Ridgemark annexation to the Sunnyslope County Water District and the annexation of 49.23 acres to the district located south of Ridgemark Drive and Marks Drive on the northeast side of Southside Road. The proposed annexation is for 90 single-family detached lots with access to Ridgemark Drive and Southside Road. The actions requested are to make an environmental determination on the adequacy of the county’s environmental impact report and to consider an amendment to the sphere of influence and approval of the annexation.
Minutes from the August LAFCO meeting on the matter note how Sunnyslope Water District General Manage Don Ridenhour told board members about concerns regarding the landslide issues on Southside Road, but that there had been no confirmation the district’s percolation ponds on the other side of the hill there had been the problem. Ridenhour said at the time the plant is permitted for 350,000 gallons of water treatment per day and it had been treating 165,000 gallons, mentioning how there was more than enough capacity for the new development.

Informational items on the agenda

The LAFCO commission will discuss commissioner announcements and requests for future agenda items; an executive officer summary of information received at the CALAFCO fall conference in Yosemite; and discussion of future commission meetings for the remainder of the year.
