Agenda: Council weighing waste deal, cannabis permits

Hollister City Council members Monday will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Hollister City Hall, 375 Fifth St., to consider the following:

  • Award contract to Terramark General Engineering Contractors for the Valley View Park basketball court
  • Award contract for $805,000 to Monterey Peninsula Engineering for the Aerostar Way sewer pipeline upgrade
  • Approve temporary street closures for National Night Out at Fifth and San Benito streets on Aug. 7
  • Approve $25,000 for a gateway sign for Pinnacles National Park at Fourth Street and Graf Road
  • Approve a resolution supporting the Council of San Benito County Governments spending plan for transportation funds and the 1 percent transportation sales tax headed for the November ballot
  • Annex proposed boundaries for CHISPA’s Sunrise Senior Apartments
  • Award a contract to Inspec Coatings for $186,000 for the Park Hill tanks recoating project
  • Regulatory permit for California Finest Manufacturing to operate a cannabis manufacturing facility at 1785 San Felipe Road; for Saavy Ventures to operate one at 731 San Felipe Road along with a permit for cultivation and distribution; and for Organnx at 1650 Lana Way, Euphoric Life at 807 Industrial Drive, and LLXP at 1971 Airway Drive
  • Award contract with RTC Construction Management of $135,389 for the Bella Vista Storm Drainage Improvements
  • Closure of Severinsen Street for the annual July 4 block party
  • Authorize Hollister Fire Department to name Greenwood Chevrolet as the supplier of two crew cab 4-by-4 pick-up vehicles and four SUV Command Utility vehicles
  • Emergency ordinance adding a section to the city code on butane resales in the regarding cannabis facilities
  • Adopt 5-year capital improvements plan
  • Repeal the previous resolution calling for a referendum vote on the future of the 400 block of San Benito Street in light of a recent state attorney general’s opinion on it
  • Approve new 10-year agreement with Recology for waste collection along with a rate increase effective Nov. 1
  • Continue agreement with San Benito High School to provide a school resource officer
  • Consider adoption of the bi-annual city budget that goes through June 2020
