Accelerated Achievement Academy honors Students of the Month

Courtesy of the Accelerated Achievement Academy:

Eight exceptional AAA students were named October Students of the Month. Students were selected by their teachers for exemplifying Capturing Kids Hearts Values of kindness, service and promoting classroom Social Contracts. AAA student winners were also recognized for their consistent academic effort and achievement for the month.  This was a particularly hard task as one teacher noted because there are so many fantastic students in their class!

This year’s Students of the Month recognition would not have been possible without AAA’s special partnership with The Academy Parent Club (APC).  The APC committed to recognizing AAA Students of the Month in their last meeting.  APC President Mayra Madrid said “We wanted to provide a small recognition to students who are leading by example and adjusting to the challenges that our community is facing this school year.”  Cecilia Kosmicki put the plan into swift motion by procuring individual certificates and getting personal pizzas donated by a fine local eatery.  Mrs. Kosmicki, Mrs. Madrid and school staff will deliver a certificate and pizza to student winners next week.

AAA Principal Scott Wilbur said, “It’s amazing what we can do for students when we work together.  This new recognition program is another successful example of what is possible when a school, families and a community work together. Our APC is an indispensable partner and AAA could not deliver so many exceptional out of the classroom student learning opportunities without them!”

The Academy Parent Club (APC) is a registered 501 C non-profit organization that exists to volunteer at school and fundraise for enriching AAA field-trips.  The APC fundraises $25,000 a year so each grade level has an extraordinary field trip and at least one college visit each year.
